Classical music is becoming increasingly accessible, lively and down-to-earth, shaking off its elite, old-fashioned image. This has been the goal of Festival Classique for many years, creating the perfect event for all ages to enjoy classical concerts! In fact, Festival Classique has been dubbed the "Lowlands of classical music".

Festival Classique is a multi-day event with short concerts and performances taking place with Scheveningen Beach as a stunning backdrop. This year, the festival will happen from June 13-15 with an extensive programme.

Concerts in iconic and memorable locations

In previous years, the festival has taken place throughout the centre of The Hague and Scheveningen, with prime locations such as the Kurhaus, Lourdeskerk, and on the beach, pier and boulevard in Scheveningen. This year, Festival Classique has its own festival site on the beach for the first time ever.

About Festival Classique

Since its first edition in 2006, Festival Classique has never ceased to surprise and delight all ages. Each concert is devised uniquely for the festival, making it a consistent and well-programmed event on the country's yearly musical calendar.

All performances maintain a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They do not take longer than one hour, there are no intermissions and many performances are introduced by presenters with a strong, personal connection to the story behind the concert.

Since classical music sounds great everywhere, concerts can be performed in the open air or at unexpected locations: in previous years, Festival Classique performances popped up in places like a McDonald’s, a coffee shop or, for instance, the Gevangenpoort Museum.
