Taste of Amsterdam: the summer's restaurant festival
Imagine foodie heaven; stunning food prepared by the best and most famous chefs of Amsterdam and Holland, superb drink and outstanding entertainment set in the middle of this bustling summer city. Welcome to Taste of Amsterdam.
Over four days from the 24th until the 27th of June, the city’s 17 finest restaurants will sell three of their mouthwatering signature dishes in sample size portions. There will be cooking demonstrations, wine tastings as well as face-to-face contact with celebrity chefs. Improve your culinary skills, participate in tastings and discover a stunning selection of fine wines and specialty food and drinks, all in the beautiful surroundings of the Amstelpark.
You also have the opportunity to experience the Okhuysen Wine Theatre, Cookery Theatre, Taste Theatre, Okura Cookery Studio, Foodie Market, Pure Taste Organic Market, Taste for Kids, all described below in detail.
› Cookery Theatre
Live demonstrations from a line-up of kitchen talent and Michelin-starred chefs. The Taste Theatre chefs are sure to inspire all with their culinary innovation and excellence. Famous chefs will also compete in cooking matches. The Taste Theatre is where Holland's culinary greats show off their skills - and polish ours. 2010 is already shaping up to be an inspiration feast, so it is time to finesse your light entertaining and watch the capital's best chefs share their secrets in this intimate and interactive forum.
› Okhuysen Wine Theatre
Enjoy wine tastings in the beautiful Wine Theatre. A team formed by experienced sommeliers of winemerchant Okhuysen will share their knowledge and passion about the latest developments on wine as well as the best wine and food combinations. With plenty of wines to sample and buy, the Wine Theatre will inspire you for a long tasty summer.
› Taste of Okura Culinary Centre
Taste of Amsterdam presents the Taste of Okura Culinary Centre, a three Michelin-star inspiring cookery school. Participate in one of the tasty cooking lessons and bring your culinary techniques to perfection under the supervision of the best instructors.
› Taste Theatre
Partners of Taste of Amsterdam will let you taste a variety of delicious things and passionately tell you about what is behind their products. Among other things, you can participate in a coffee workshop hosted by the barista’s of Lavazza, learn how to shake the best cocktails with Bacardi’s shaker artists, or taste champagne under expert supervision of Laurent Perrier.
› Foodie Market
Get inspired by the latest trends, specialties, developments in the field of "food and drinks" and everything that has to do with cooking.
So the only thing better than eating your way around the event, is shopping for gourmet provisions. To see the full line-up of artisan producers, top-notch ingredients and boutique suppliers, you may visit the Taste of Amsterdam website.
› Pure Taste Organic Market
At the Pure Taste Market you discover the story behind the organic and artisan products. Authentic tastes are presented in a contemporary way. You will also find beautiful delicacies to taste and to take home. Be inspired by panel discussions and presentations on the delicious stage and the future of food.
› Taste of Kids
During Taste of Amsterdam there will be several activities for children on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon. At the Pure Taste Market children can get acquainted with organic and craft food through quests and tasting lessons. There will also be several cookery classes especially for children.

Opening hours
Taste of Amsterdam has different opening hours, divided in a lunch session and a dinner session. After the lunch session Taste of Amsterdam will be closed for preparation of the dinner session.
Tickets
› Standard: 15 euros (presale) / 17,50 euros (entrance)
› Premium: 32,50 euros including 20 euros worth of Florins** (presale only)
› VIP: 65 euros including 25 euros worth of Florins**, a quick VIP entrance to the event, access to the Star Lounge, glas of champagne at the Star bar, exclusive sitting spaces and Taste goodie (Saturday and Sunday, presale only).
› Kids (6 to 12): 7,50 euros (presale)

**The Florin is the official Taste of Amsterdam - currency during the event: One Florin represents a value of 1,25 euros. Restaurant dishes are priced from 3,75 to 8,75 euros.
Please note that most of the presentations, forums, workshops, lessons will be in Dutch.
