As part of the annual Amsterdam Music Festival that takes place during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), DJ Mag has announced the top 100 DJs in the world and Martin Garrix has once again managed to claim the number-one spot with two other Dutch DJs also named in the top 10.
Every year, DJ Mag composes a list of the world’s top 100 DJs in electronic dance music based on a poll. Receiving the most votes this year was Martin Garrix, nabbing the top spot for the fifth time - equalling the record for the highest number of Top 100 DJs poll wins that was previously held by another Dutch DJ, Armin van Buuren.
“I’m on the list with all my idols — I look up to Armin, I look up to Tiësto. To be in there with those guys is very surreal,” Garrix told DJ Mag. “My number one worry when I entered the list, and topped the list, was that it could only go downhill from here, so it’s very special we’re back at the number one spot.”
The award was presented during one of the biggest events in Amsterdam where Garrix then took to the stage for a victory performance. The 28-year-old musician is joined in the top 10 by two more of the best DJs in the Netherlands, Armin van Buuren and Afrojack, in sixth and seventh positions respectively.
