Market Sales Director

The Market Sales Director position manages sales activities by performing the following duties personally or through sales staff. This position is responsible for creating sales opportunities for AgiLight and Acolyte product lines in signage and/or general illumination programs. This will require daily exchange with the company’s customer base to increase product awareness, as well as build rapport with the distributors’ sales teams and/or other external sources. Successful job execution comprehends time and territory planning, on site sales calls, introduction of new products, application consulting, operational pricing, claims management, collection and finally accomplishing the agreed sales goals.

This leader will also provide connectivity from field sales to the Corporate/Regional offices and provide inspirational leadership while creating passion around the synergy of the LED product. This position requires coaching, directing and training sales professionals in their respective assignments to succeed at managing and developing their customer base, leveraging internal and external sales resources, driving products and the channel to market, to achieve market share gains, support price attainment goals and support strategic initiatives throughout the assigned market. This position will receive training on company sales processes, products and technology, and application layouts.


  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate market/corporate goals
  • Provides sales forecasting and sets performance goals accordingly, and supports and motivates sales staff in achieving their goals
  • Manages staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop, and continuously improve organizational capabilities of sales staff, and control sales program
  • Advises distributors and clients concerning sales opportunities

  • Analyzes sales and market data, trends, and customer needs to formulate sales plan and assist distributors in promoting sales
  • Makes recommendations to company leadership on product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line
  • Initiates, develops and implements sales-oriented customer events, activities, and campaigns, company and product presentations
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with building and maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals to enhance sales volume
  • Focuses on developing and winning new customers across our business- identify key stakeholders, available market, customer needs, competitive market
  • Negotiates and influences at executive and management level to implement programs that grow LED market share
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Understands LED Lighting products and their competitive position within the market
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Manage all employees assigned within the market and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that market.


  • Position requires travel, including international.


  • English proficiency is a must, German and/or French is preferred, any other language is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
  • Strong drive to achieve business objectives
  • Highly analytical and ability to see market sales trends
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sales funnel, sales forecasts, and pipeline
  • Experience managing or selling through an independent sales channel – a plus
  • Strong track record of delivering on sales targets
  • 5+ years working experience in sales, business development, key account management, or similar
  • 3+ years in leadership position
  • Excellent presentation, written communication, interpersonal skills, backed up by deep industry relationships

  • Proven track record in the signage or lighting industry is a plus
