Are you passionate about global commerce and building lasting relationships across borders? Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join their Trading department as an Commercial Trade Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the buying and selling of various commodities on the international market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture a robust network of clients and suppliers within designated markets.
  • Facilitate the buying and selling of commodities, ensuring optimal conditions for both parties.
  • Cultivate new relationships and maintain existing ones through various means such as cold calling, on-site visits, and participation in international trade fairs.
  • Draft and negotiate sales and purchase contracts, ensuring adherence to delivery and payment terms.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and product developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues related to reliability, claims, currency fluctuations, credit limits, and payment terms.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and efficient operations.
  • Provide timely input on escalated non-conformities to support ongoing improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Holds a BSC or MSC degree. Graduates in a relevant study are welcome to apply as long as you have a trade-spirit
  • Demonstrates 0-3 years of experience in an international commodity trade environment, preferably in the dairy industry
  • Exhibits commercial skills and a trade spirit, coupled with strong social skills.
  • Possesses competencies in Teamwork, Effective Communication, Management and Responsibility, Leadership, Initiative, Customer Focus, Relationship Building, Analytical Thinking, and Financial Awareness.
  • Proficient in automated systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional language is desirable (especially German or French!)

Salary Benefits:

  • a 7 month contract followed by a 1 year contract, and afterwards a permanent contract
  • travel allowance: 23 cents per km for 50 km one-way
  • 26 holidays (excluding national holidays)
