International Account Manager (retail)

As an International Account Manager, your primary objective will be to boost product sales within designated retail groups, achieving both sales and margin goals. You will manage a portfolio of specific retail accounts, developing and maintaining effective customer relationships to maximize product sales.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Expand the account base in EMEA, driving top- and bottom-line growth.
  • Focus on major national and international retail chains.
  • Strengthen relationships with current customers and develop business in new regions.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to meet volume, value, and profit targets while addressing both strategic and operational needs.
  • Provide accurate customer forecasts for demand planning.
  • Collaborate with all departments to leverage product offerings and ensure timely product launches.
  • Work closely with the Licensing Team to share relevant information with customers and gather feedback on license performance.
  • Serve as the expert on market, competitive, and retail insights for each country.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales Support, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement to successfully launch and supply new products.
  • Prepare reports to keep relevant departments informed of account developments.
  • Work within a team of five experienced sales professionals, supported by a team of four sales support staff.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-4 years of international account management experience with big retail accounts. It's important to add that you need experience with traditional retailers, not e-comm based.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; skills in Dutch, German, and French are a very big plus.
  • Experienced in FMCG.
  • Knowledge of category management and retail pricing dynamics.
  • Experience with product lines having multiple SKUs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to inspire, lead, and improve customer and colleague relationships to achieve business and account goals.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and contribute effectively within a high-performing team.
  • High level of numeracy, with confidence in costing, pricing, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic perspective.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
