Freelancer Designer Soft Woven and Shirt

We are looking for a Designer Soft Woven Temporary for a well-known fashion brand with HQ in Amsterdam!

This opportunity is to work in the women's design team with focus on the shirts and soft woven product categories. You will report into the Design Director and/or Design Manager Woven's and work closely together with the other designers in order to build a cohesive collection.

• Conduct product research based on current trends;




• Map out the competitor landscape through category offense;




• Create seasonal sourcing briefs to send to vendors to ensure news value in fabrication, silhouette and trimmings;




• Map out and sketch the shirt and soft woven categories resulting in a clear, commercial build-up, always keeping the range plan in mind;




• Create complete garment work sheets/tech packs in order to communicate your ideas with the vendors as well as PD;




• Conduct fittings and see to the administrative follow-up throughout the various phases in the design development process;




• Prepare and present your designs, both digitally and non-digitally;




• Travel for design development and production purposes.

You will work in a dynamic and international environment. The salary will be market conform based on experience and education.

Requirements:

For this position we are looking for a candidate that is/has:

* Bachelor degree in Fashion Design (apparel);
* Minimum of 5 years experience in Womenswear design, ideally soft wovens / dresses;
* Creative, feminine and youthful design handwriting;
* Keen eye for current trends and a feel for the youth market;
* Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator;
* Strong skills in time management and organization;
* Hands-on, collaborative mentality - must also be a strong communicator;
* English language skills are a must, both verbal and in writing;
* Mentoring skills are a bonus.
