Job Profile for Logistics Officer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Principal Function
  • Process shipments and transports of spares and equipment and materials
  • Ensure that all regulatory permits, verification documents, and documents required for the correct and safe use of materials and parts are valid through the process
  • Carry out the daily tasks related to purchasing and materials handling and customer service
  • Closely liaison with the company’s Procurement and Logistics Departments to ensure the correct Ordering functions are completed in an efficient manner
  • Ensure that the best possible price is always obtained before any purchase orders are issued
  • Recommend any improvements and cost savings within the scope of the purchasing and materials handling activities
You are accountable for but not limited to:
  • Raise non-conformance procedures and processing of claims
  • Ensure that applicable requirements pertinent to handling, preservation, and maintenance of items in store and transit are implemented
  • Ensure that hazardous products are purchased, handled, packed, labelled and shipped in accordance with applicable procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Arrange effective customs clearance of imported and exported goods
  • Keep track of all items kept in storage and in transit to/from the offshore unit or suppliers
Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment
As Team member you will also be part of an ongoing assessment program looking at:
  • Your ability to increase safety culture within the organisation by conduct
  • Your performance in emergency and fire drills in-house scenario’s
  • Safety standards within the logistics functions
  • Your overall contribution to the wellbeing and general “house-keeping” with the company

  • Display excellent organisational skills in communication in a manner that will promote the company’s reputation

  • Seek and demonstrate continuous improvements in the Health and Safety performance in the entire company
  • Adequately informing yourself of all applicable Ghanaian laws, acts and regulations as pertain to your company and department
  • Ensure that all your subordinates are adequately informed of and understand their duties with regards to the company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy statement
Practical & Technical
You are accountable for the schedule of your own work and the work of your colleagues but not limited to:
  • Show a proven ability to conceptualise, innovate, plan and execute ideas and systems
  • Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concepts in written and oral form
  • Proven ability to plan, manage and monitor the effective use and safekeeping of fixed assets and financial resources
  • Have good analytical and negotiating skills
  • Ability to organise and implement training
  • Good knowledge of computer management and applications
  • Ability to establish harmonious working relations in an international and multicultural environment
  • Develop key performance indicators by which localised logistics contracts can be managed
  • Implement Maintenance schedules of vehicles
Candidate Profile for Logistics Officer
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or in Management
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of general procurement procedures
  • Diverse supply/logistics functional background is an asset, from procurement to warehousing, transport management and distribution to beneficiaries
  • Experience in the offshore drilling industry is an advantage
  • Valid driving license
