Finance and Accounting Process Specialist (R2R process)

As Finance and Accounting Process Specialist you will be part of the R2R team within our Global Financial Shared Service Center. Our R2R specialists (GL-Accountants and Financial Controllers) are responsible for general ledger accounting and the monthly financial reporting processes, including account analysis and reconciliations for one or more entities in our global operations. We are looking for a financial that wants to specialize in analyzing and (re)designing our financial processes within the R2R domain, a leader with proven broad business perspective and a good knowledge and understanding of end-to-end finance processes. You can build strong working relationships across all parts of the organization. You will become a member of the wider Finance team with global interactions. This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities in line with business requirements. Furthermore you will contribute in the roll-out of our new ERP system (Oracle Cloud) and the ‘New Way of Working’. You will be the link between the local organizations, the Shared Service Center (VGS) and our headquarters to ensure the blueprint and the New Way of Working are implemented successfully.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Together with the R2R team (re)design, describe, implement, continuously improve and monitor R2R process from the (pre)closing activities (i.e. (re)valuations, accruals, reconciliations, provisions, review, analyses etc.) to Consolidation and Financial Reporting (including tax reporting), ensuring an efficient, effective and compliant process
  • Responsible to lead agreed activities, with and without IT component, in order to resolve issues related to process efficiency and effectiveness; manage implementation of decided system changes/development by working closely with Business Solutions/IT
  • Work interdependently with all stakeholders to establish clear interfaces between the processes to achieve alignment, synchronization and standardization preventing process gaps and process silos
  • Responsible for improving, developing and securing process documentation (e.g. process maps and/or descriptions, closing schedule), communication of process updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Secure implementation and establishment of the process including identifying competence development needs
  • Responsible to coach and support within his/hers area of expertise, share knowledge and experience with colleagues
  • Continuously develop expertise within the specific process area.
  • Liaise with other functions e.g. Global Treasury and Global Tax




  • Degree in Business and Administration or Accounting (HBO/University)
  • Minimum of 4 - 5 years relevant working experience in an international accounting environment
  • A solid knowledge and understanding of end-to-end finance processes
  • Experience in process analysis, preferably with financial process redesign
  • Preferably you have experience in a Shared Service environment
  • English language skills are essential, additional languages are a plus (Dutch, Spanish)
  • Advanced understanding of ERP systems; Oracle experience is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility
  • High level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility
  • Accustomed to working under pressure and with deadlines
  • Excellent organizational work ability, customer focused and attention to detail
