Editing / Translation

The Position

You will write and commission news and features for The World of Food Ingredients as well as the Innova Newsletter publication. The position involves news sourcing, contacting and interviewing industry experts, telephone and face-to-face interviewing, writing and editing news stories. Ideally, you will have a journalistic background and a solid understanding of B2B communication. Most importantly, you will have strong written and verbal communication skills. Skills and requirements

The successful applicant will already have demonstrated skills in generating and managing news and features. In addition, you will manage and coordinate with our specialist contributors.

Your desk research, industry visits as well as exhibition and conference interviews will give you the material you need so that you keep our audience in the vanguard of industry innovation.

Good layout skills are an advantage, while a keen understanding of publishing and printing requirements and deadlines is crucial.

  • Native English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Journalism, Food Science or Life Sciences would be ideal.
  • Experience in marketing and/or background knowledge of the food, beverage/nutrition, packaging or sectors is required.
  • Relevant contacts in the global FMCG field is a plus.
  • Strong journalism, writing and interviewing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced working environment, for example, experience working within copy editing or news reporting is required.
  • Living within commuting distance of Arnhem or willing to relocate.
  • Willingness to travel for trade shows, exhibitions or media visits are required.
  • Media production, design and layout skills are an advantage, as is knowledge of Wordpress, CMS and Adobe Suite.
