HR Business Partner | German

For our client, we are looking for a HR Business Partner with focus on retail for the DACH market. The HR team works hard to support the business in their daily operations and development within the company. They are looking for an experienced, hands-on and German speaking HR Business Partner to join their team.

The HR Business Partner will be based at the HQ in Amsterdam and will be in charge of full-cycle, hands-on HR support for their retail colleagues and for the staff within the DACH region. In this role, you will act as first point of contact for management to effectively provide HR advice, guidance and support on a variety of HR-related topics such as employee relations, legal issues and performance management. On top, you will ensure correct HR operations and administration processes in close coordination with the HQ HR team, as well as support in local recruitment activities.

The ideal candidate has solid experience as HR Business Partner and is used to act in a rapidly changing retail environment and the dynamics and challenges that this brings to your daily responsibilities. The candidate will proactively support achieving set business goals by advising on the right approach from a HR perspective while initiating ideas to improve employee engagement.


· Draft standard correspondence throughout the employee life-cycle such as confirmation of employment, changes to terms and conditions, prepare evaluation documents.
· Ensure up-to-date local employee data within Information system
· Facilitate the recruitment process of personnel
· Prepare employment contracts and legal documents
· Ensure compliance with local legislation and global policies
· Advice and coach on pay and other remuneration issues
· Training & coaching managers in the core HR processes such as Recruitment/ Onboarding,
· Work on local retail staff development and learning processes in cooperation with the Global HQ HR Team.


  • Business level German (C2)
  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience as a HR Business Partner in a corporate environment
  • Knowledge of the German labor & payroll law
  • Strong at building (HR) partnerships
  • Solid operational and analytical skills
  • Self-confident, proactive and result-oriented
  • Willing to work in a VUCA environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and highly structured
  • Background and experience in Retail/Fashion is preferred
