The Highland House is looking for a 'switched on' and upbeat receptionist. Your main responsibility as a receptionist is to run the daily operations from your desk, overseeing all arrivals and departures. Understanding what it means to deliver exceptional customer service and being able to exceed our guest's expectations is imperative in this role. You should have a warm, friendly and welcoming manner, and genuinely care about the guest experience. Further, you are able to take directions from the Hotel Manager and respond ad-hoc to all challenges thrown at you.

About The Highland House

The Highland House is a boutique hotel with a luxurious and intimate atmosphere. Each of its 12 rooms boasts a unique theme with surprising and quirky details. The Highland House is a 17th centurey house which is situated in the oldest district of Amsterdam.

  • Do all the daily check in and check outs;
  • Be confident about the daily availability so you are able to manage last minute changes and reservations;
  • Answer any incoming calls and emails, and send out emails in name of The Highland House;
  • Act upon any guest request, make wake up calls, make restaurant reservations and book museum visits for our guests;
  • Liaise with the housekeeping department regarding arrivals and departures and confirm when rooms are ready to be occupied;
  • Receive all feedback on behalf of The Highland House, in a manner consistent with company standards, register this invaluable information and forward it to the Hotel Manager;
  • Learn our guests preferences quickly and cater to them accordingly.


Who are You?
  • You are confident and have a warm personality;
  • Your passion is to deliver a memorable guest experience;
  • You are available to work in the weekends;
  • You have previous working experience as a hotel receptionist;
  • You speak English fluently, a second language is considered an asset.
