About this role

We are looking for an audience and partnerships editor to grow our readership, write for the site, and run the commercial side of our editorial operation. This is a hybrid editorial-marketing role at a small, ambitious news organisation.

You will work directly with the editor in chief, write journalism that reaches a large international audience, and have real ownership of how DutchNews grows.

What you'll do

Manage the backend of our sponsored and partner content: scheduling, client liaison, invoicing coordination and delivery
Write news articles, features and partner content for the site, working to DutchNews' editorial standards
Develop and run our marketing strategy across social media, email and search
Create marketing content, including short-form video, that turns our journalism into audience growth on Instagram, LinkedIn and other channels
Grow and manage our newsletter products
Track performance and produce regular analytics reports

Requirements

At least two years' experience in a similar editorial, audience development or commercial content role
Native-level English and fluent Dutch - you'll be working with Dutch-language sources daily
Proven video editing skills (e.g. Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve) and an eye for what works on social platforms
Hands-on experience with the standard digital marketing toolkit: email platforms such as Mailchimp, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, Google Discover optimisation, Meta Business Suite and social scheduling tools
Sound news judgment and an understanding of what matters to internationals in the Netherlands
A strong writer with a journalistic eye: you can turn a press release, a report or a client brief into clean, accurate copy that people actually want to read
