MOMO Restaurant – Bar - Lounge blends the flavours and colours of the Far East with the style and sophistication of the West, bringing an exciting new concept to Amsterdam. This hip new venue is located in the heart of the city’s chic quarter, opposite Vondel Park, close to the famous designer shops and museums, and on the ground floor of the magnificent Park Hotel which has just undergone a huge refurbishment. By day it offers an oasis for shoppers, business travellers and tourists. By night it’s the place for the cool, the cosmopolitan and the adventurous. Diners can choose from small tasting plates – perfect for light grazing during the day – to large and extravagant sharing plates ideal for a special dinner in the evening.

Pastry Chef

You have a couple years of experience in a professional kitchen in the pasty section and you are ready for your next step as a Pastry Chef. We work only with the best fresh ingredients and make all pastry ourselves. In the pastry section of our kitchen work 3-4 chefs. It is possible to be creative and change in deliberation with the Head Chef. The menu in MOMO restaurant is based on modern French pastry with Japanese / Asian flavors. We are making next to the desserts also chocolate bonbons and macarons for shop of our hotel. Also with Japanese and Asian flavors. In our kitchen we are focust and disciplined, but we make also fun with each other. Our goal is to create a fantastic culinary experience for our guests and you can be part of this.

Job description:

The Pastry Chef produces the highest standard of breads and desserts which will be along the lines of the restaurant concept having a fresh, simple elegant approach, taking in to account that all produced goods are in line with margins and waste management. You prepare the plate desserts have a consistent quality and are prepared to set recipes. You ensure that the highest food quality required by maintaining the efficiency of the foodservice. You work closely with the Head Chef and all other staff to ensure that all staff members have a good knowledge of the pastry section, presentation, methods and recipes. You make sure that all goods received are of the expected standard of HACCP.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative colleague. The candidate we are looking for is a team player and has affinity with the international and Asian kitchen.

Job requirements:
  • Relevant graduate;
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in pastry section;
  • English needs to be spoken and written fluently;
  • Flexible and creative.
