Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and guide a team of over 20 production employees at our leading bio-manufacturing facility.
  • Supervise production staff, addressing employee relations proactively, including coaching and performance management.
  • Ensure effective training and cross-training programs for employees.
  • Create and implement strategies to boost productivity and production efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage manufacturing, quality, safety, logistics, and other operational activities.
  • Ensure throughput, quality, cost, and safety metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Control to ensure consistent adherence to standards.
  • Engage effectively with all departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Uphold health and safety standards according to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead or participate in internal projects to ensure timely execution and achievement of deliverables.
  • Prepare, track, and manage the operations and maintenance budgets.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and provide accurate, detailed reports of all plant activities.
  • Assess staffing needs, work with HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels, and conduct interviews.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English C2 level.
  • You must have your own transport to the laboratory (maximum 1h from Harfsen) as public transport is not an option in this area
  • Residency within the Netherlands is a prerequisite, as well living within commutable range to Harfsen.
  • You'll need to be available for rotating 12-hour shifts, showcasing your flexibility and dedication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in biotech manufacturing.
  • Strong skills in conflict resolution, excellent communication, and proven leadership abilities.
  • Proven capability to optimize production and manage costs through continuous improvement, inventory control, and other manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with Kaizen, LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Consistently exhibit company values and behaviors in daily work.
  • Maintain professional communication with coworkers, internal and external customers, and vendors.
