Waiter/Waitress Yamazato Restaurant

We are searching for a waiter/waitress for our traditional Japanese restaurant Yamazato. Our Yamazato restaurant is awarded with a Michelin star and ranks amongst the top Japanese restaurants in Europe.

Yamazato Restaurant is opened daily for dinner from 6.00 until 9.30 pm. On Saturday and Sunday it is also open for lunch from noon to 2.00 pm. The team of our Yamazato Restaurant consists of approximately 30 colleagues, including 25 Japanese colleagues.

As a waiter/waitress you will be responsible for taking orders, serving dishes, handling payment and cleaning the tables and the restaurant.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Operational tasks in the restaurant, such as taking orders, serving guests and arrange payments

Looking after mise en place, providing information about Japanese dishes, method of preparation, the Japanese tradition and customs

Pro-actively selling restaurant products

Working in a multicultural environment

Maintaining excellent contact with guests in foreign languages

Ensuring that the tables and restaurant remain clean

Following guidelines with regards to safety, Arbo, hygiene and HACCP


You have relevant work experience.
You have a job-related education.
You are flexible and have a guest minded attitude.
You have a flexible work attitude with regards to work shifts.
Preferably you have a few years of experience in a Japanese Restaurant, have sufficient knowledge of Japanese dishes and menu's.
Knowledge of the Japanese culture and customs is mandatory for this position.
You are fluent in English orally, preferably also in writing
Knowledge of the Japanese or Dutch language is not mandatory, but an advantage.
