Assistant Professor ADCS with educational focus

The section of Space Systems Engineering (SSE) at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering provides unique and recognized education, research, and engineering of end-to-end space systems.
At SSE we are offering a position for an Assistant Professor (tenure track position) with a strong education focus (60%) and associated research (30%) in the field of Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS). About 10% of your time is left for other activities. The current ADCS research is directed to Cubesat and PocketQube systems. The focus in education is on the development of a new interdisciplinary Minor program. You will also be involved in selected educational activities in the BSc and MSc program, including the supervision of MSc students in their literature studies and master theses work. Through this, you will be supporting existing research at SSE. We are seeking candidates who have a proven research record in satellite Attitude Determination and Control Systems, preferrably related to miniaturized spacecraft platforms like Cubesats and PocketQubes, or associated to spacecraft that require a demanding pointing performance for its payload. An applied science view, backed-up by a practical / empirical atttude, is important.
You must have a PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline and proven educational and research experience at university level. Your educational experience will stem from responsible educational activities in the BSc and/or MSc program of a university. Your research experience will be in the above described area and be proven by publications in the proceedings of scientific conferences or journals. You are a well-organised, goal-oriented, accurate and open-minded team player. Excellent communication skills are expected and competence in written and spoken English is required.
A tenure-track position is offered for six years. Based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment, a decision will be made by the fifth year whether to offer you a permanent faculty position.
