Certification Officer/Auditor

Do you have experience with 3rd party auditing and testing? Do you understand the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) industry, or willing to learn more about it rapidly?
And, last but not least, you want to travel all over the world (besides Asia) to audit your clients? Then stop reading, this is the position for you!

This role will begin as a Certification Officer with strong intention of becoming a Certification Auditor. Auditing work will be international – with travel and work in Europe, North and South America predominantly but is currently restricted under the COVID pandemic.

You will work directly with clients to register enquiries and lead their certification projects. Projects will require the processing of new and existing product evaluation applications to the range of UK, EU and Private product certification schemes. The work is a profession technical service, and will involve evaluation of simple and complex protective products, arranging of testing, evaluating test reports, and drafting evaluation reports.

The auditing work will see you visit head officers, production facilities and storage facilities of producers of safety equipment, interacting with all client staff from top management, through sales, design, production, warehousing and delivery.

Initial responsibilities (as Certification Officer) are:
- Proactive liaison with Staff and Customers at all levels
- Maintenance of good Customer relations
- Fulfilment of written instructions and procedures
- Handling of enquiries and development of quotations
- Contract reviews / application reviews
- Preparing Test Commission, subcontracting testing, and handling the processes
- Evaluating products against standards and/or requirements to determine compliance
- Arranging and undertaking on-site sampling visits to schedule
- Drafting certificates, and preparing relevant documentation for certification review and/or certification decision

Future responsibilities (as Auditor) will become:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a technical / scientific subject.

Additional Considerations for preferred candidacy
- Required: Driving License.
- Required: EU Passport, we are not eligible to sponser.
- Successful completion of an accredited quality system Lead assessor/auditor training course (e.g. ISO 9001:2015).
- Registered quality system assessor/auditor or equivalent (e.g. IRCA).
- Direct experience of the design, manufacture or testing of PPE.
- Experience of certification activities (e.g. ISO 17065, ISO 17021).
- Experience of laboratory testing (i.e. ISO 17025).
- Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Quality Management experience in a certification body.

Salary Benefits:

My client offers a 1 year contract, with the intention to renew this after the first year.
As my client is rapidly growing, you could eventually lead the Dutch office and become a Branch Manager.
Salary will be accordingly to your experience.
