In October 2012 the city of Amsterdam has gained one new hospitality hotspot. In the vibrant area ‘De Pijp’ IZAKAYA has opened its doors. Located at the foot of the chique Sir Albert boutique hotel, IZAKAYA will prove to be a haven of indulgence.

IZAKAYA, best translated from Japanese, as ‘pub’ is a unique and vital cornerstone of the Japanese food culture, uninhibited and welcoming. The heart of this venue is the traditional Japanese Robata grill. Besides the grilled specialties, the well-balanced Izakaya menu also offers Sakana - a variety of small dishes, Osume – specially prepared food from the heart, and the Hibachi fire bowl - a traditional Japanese small cooking hot plate designed to hold burning charcoal. Naturally they also gladly serve market-fresh sashimi and mouthwatering rolls.

IZAKAYA is literally ‘raising the bar’ when it comes to beverages. It serves a vast array of house infused tonics based on the ancient Japanese spirit Shochu, but also a wide selection of cocktails. This hip venue is the place for the cosmopolitan and the adventurous.

Demi Chef de partie

You have maybe one or two years of experience in any kitchen and you are ready for your next professional step in the kitchen. If you become part of the amazing kitchen team from Izakaya you can expect all motivated Chefs with an international background. Most of the Demi Chef de parties are young and driven and are ready like you are for their next step. As a Demi Chef de partie you assist the Chef de partie at the section you work during the day. In the kitchen we offer a routation system, that means that you will learn to work at the different sections in the kitchen. You can learn a lot from all professionals in our kitchen and they are willing to teach you to work at a high-end quality level with the best ingredients. The team will support eachother and are happy to welcome you to their team.

Job description:

The Demi Chef de Partie will assist with preparing the recipes concern the planning and making the orders ready. As a Demi Chef de partie you make the preparation, production and cooking of food appropriate to the section, to the required standard, ensuring guest satisfaction. You help to order food as required and ensure that stock is rotated, labelled and stored in compliance with procedures laid out in the H&S manual, so food safety and quality is maintained. Other tasks are attended to developing garnitures, cleaning the workplace, working according the HACCP-method, assisting by the distribution of stocks.

Job requirements:
  • Dedication, Commitment, Discipline and Positive Attitude;
  • 0-1 years work experience as a chef in any kitchen;
  • Flexible and creative.
