Students up to the age of 17 in the Netherlands have the opportunity to go to the cinema for free on Friday October 16 to see the documentary I Am Greta, about the life and work of the climate activist Greta Thunberg. With many primary and secondary school students on school holidays this week, the timing is ideal.

Free cinema admission for children up for the age of 17

Fridays For Future set up the special collaboration with film distributor Periscoop Film. The news was announced on the Fridays For Future Netherlands website on Monday. The aim of the campaign is to introduce as many kids and young people as possible to I Am Greta.

The life of a climate activist

The documentary follows Thunberg's life in the lead up to becoming the globally renowned climate activist she is today - from the first Friday school strikes at the Swedish parliament to the transatlantic sailing journey that took her to the United Nations conference in New York in 2019, where she gave a talk about the climate emergency.
