Our one-of-a-kind apartment is the perfect place for a couple or young family to call home during their extended stay in Amsterdam. Located in a monumental building, on a charming, car-free square surrounded by historical buildings and a characteristic water tower, it offers the best of two worlds. While its hidden location makes for tranquil village vibes, the lively Westerpark is right next door, and both the city center and the Jordaan are just a short bike ride away. The space The apartment is situated in a monumental, historic building that was once the warehouse for the Amsterdam water utility company. Built over a hundred years ago, it was renovated into 10 apartments when the city decided to develop the country's first ecological neighbourhood. The people living here are proud of the building and its history, and take care of it together. Besides the individual apartments, there is a shared/kitchen on the ground floor, a garden at the back of the house, and a terrace to enjoy sunny days out front. You will have the opportunity to meet many of our friendly neighbors during your stay. The shared entrance on the ground floor leads to stairs that ascend to the first floor, where our apartment entrance is located. On the first floor, you will find a hallway, bathroom, and spacious living room with a connected, open kitchen and dining area. Up the stairs to the second floor, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed for kids (the top bed is safe for toddlers). The modern bathroom features a bathtub and a rain shower. The third bedroom is divided over two floors. On the lower part, you can relax and read a book, or enjoy the evening sun on the patio with a glass of wine. The upper part functions as both a workplace and a bedroom, featuring a comfortable two-person sofa bed. Guest access You can use any part of the apartment. We will ensure that you have plenty of closet space, etc. Other things to note We, Joni & Fleur, and our two daughters, Aviv & Elfie, are going on a trip! The plan is to travel through Southeast Asia for two months before the Dutch compulsory education kicks in. That is why we are looking for someone who wants to call our home their home for a while and enjoy it just as much as we do!
