We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Business Development Manager to join our client’s growing team in Delft, working in a flexible hybrid setup.
Job Profile for Business Development Manager
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Meet and exceed annual bookings targets within the assigned geographic territory with a focus on developing large, strategic existing accounts and identifying new prospects
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial lead generation to deal closure and repeat purchasing
- Create detailed business plans to support the achievement of goals and quotas
- Communicate the company’s value proposition effectively to potential customers in both academic and commercial sectors
- Identify customer needs and provide the appropriate products, tools, and technical resources to help them achieve their objectives while maintaining competitiveness
- Coordinate with internal teams to manage complex customer tenders, bids, and agreements
- Utilise go-to-market resources such as solution engineers, marketing materials, and evaluation programs to enhance customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all leads and opportunities, and provide reports as required
Candidate Profile for Business Development Manager
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Educational background in physics and/or electrical engineering, with a solid understanding of quantum computing principles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce)
- 10+ years of proven experience as a successful, growth-oriented salesperson, with a strong emphasis on new business expansion
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in market research, sales cycle management, and negotiation strategies
- Experience in hardware sales and selling to academia and research laboratories is a strong advantage
- Ability to build and maintain relationships of trust with clients and partners
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with a high degree of independence and initiative
- Ability to travel regularly for meetings with customers and prospects
