As Service Operations Engineer you will be responsible for proactively monitoring and resolving application, system, and network incidents affecting Irdeto systems and ensuring maximum availability and performance. You will perform these tasks using various standard network management tools, internal ticketing systems, and monitoring consoles. Your key role serves as a coordination point for communications between internal customers, engineering teams, other operations teams during events which affect customer. You will help with root cause analysis of recurring incidents and raising escalation to back line teams as necessary. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration and maintenance support for web applications hosted in AWS.
  • Perform application troubleshooting to quickly resolve the issues per documented procedures.
  • Effectively respond to monitoring alerts, incident tickets, information requests within predefined SLA's.
  • Escalate issues as needed to back line support as per documented procedures.
  • Handling communication and notification on major issues to all stakeholders. Document resolution run books and standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with the Technology Customer Operations team to ensure timely resolution of bug fixes. Interface with various internal and external parties on a daily basis providing problem resolution and configuration support for all Irdeto products and services.
  • This position will involve 24*7 shift work.

Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • Knowledge and experience in Windows/Linux environment.
  • Good understanding of architecture and components of multi-layer web applications (web servers, application servers, databases, etc).
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies. 
  • Scripting language is advantageous (i.e. powershell, bash, perl, ruby, python).
  • Understanding of system logs and usage of tools like Splunk, Nagios, Cloudwatch, ELK is advantageous.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Self-starter, adaptable, willing to learn and able to work under pressure, both independently and within a global team of high-level professionals.
  • Pro-active, dynamic, customer orientated and willing to accept responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (in English).
