About the concerts

Here's a snapshot of what to expect at each of the concerts, one of which you could be attending for free if you're a lucky winner!

Classical Christmas featuring Jan Vayne (December 9-24)

Famous Christmas carols are interspersed with large-scale classical Christmas works by Handel and Bach during the Classical Christmas concert featuring Jan Vayne. Listen to tender music with melancholic sounds and Christmas classics from world-famous composers, with Jan Vayne playing beautiful improvisations on piano. During this concert, the musicians will bring the true Christmas spirit to you.

Handel's Messiah (December 3-30)

Experience Handel's most famous masterpiece The Messiah. This world-famous oratorio is especially prized during the Christmas period. Partly due to the wonderful acoustics of the selected halls and churches in the Netherlands, this version brings forth the unique atmosphere of the composer George Frideric Handel.

Vivaldi Four Seasons (January 21 - May 28, 2023)

There's nothing quite like Vivaldi’s masterpiece! Get ready to hear the four amazing concertos known as The Four Seasons, composed for violin and strings, that represent scenes of nature in music, inspired by each season of the year. They'll be played by the Spanish violin virtuoso Enrique Gomez-Cabrero as soloist. Together with a string quintet, Olga Zinovieva performs Boccherini's tender Stabat Mater with her impressive soprano voice.

Bach's St. Matthew Passion (March 4 - April 9, 2023)

In the Netherlands, the St. Matthew Passion is the most frequently performed classical musical work in the period before Easter. It is regarded by musicians, scholars and classical music fans alike as one of the true gems of classical music, composed by the great Johann Sebastian Bach. The singers, which are carefully selected to blend with the orchestra, possess unique sounds.

Mozart Requiem (April 29 - May 28, 2023)

This special concert of Mozart's Requiem will open with Mozart's concert aria Exsultate Jubilate, followed by his famous Coronation Mass. The concert will come to a head with the impressive and passionate Requiem. The performers are Olga Zinovieva, soprano, Martinus Leusink, tenor, Thilo Dahlmann, bass, along with The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands.
