Almere Floats
If it happens on the water, it's happening in Almere this July 20 and 21! Almere Floats gives everyone the chance to try new water sports and activities for free and with the whole family. For once, the weather doesn't matter as you're going to be wet anyway!
Almere Floats
Almere has a close relationship with the water that it only recently emerged from, and Almere Floats is a great way to celebrate the connection between the city and its lake. Everyone can come down and try out a new water sport or activity for free. For the more timid around water, the esplanade will be buzzing with activities and spectators.
What can you do at Almere Floats?
The weekend features a floating DJ to really get the party going, and there are free boat tours around the Weerwater. You can also participate in:
- Stand-up paddle boarding
- Pedalos
- Aqua-rollers
- Canoeing
- Diving
- Sailing
- Surfing
On the esplanade, there will be a giant inflatable water slide and bouncy castle, craft workshops and sandcastle building, as well as less water-themed activities like salsa dancing!
The festival is extremely family-friendly, and all classes are free to take part in. However, for any activities on the water, a swimming diploma is required.
