The Atlantic House was built between 1928 and 1930 in Art Deco style, designed by architect PG Buskens . The building is special because it is one of the first industrial buildings in the Netherlands. The Atlantic is still in use as a business centre. On the ground floor is the famous grand cafe Loos. On the upper floors are luxury residential apartments. The Atlantic house is suited in the Maritime Quarter, located on the Nieuwe Maas, is one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in the Netherlands, and was largely spared from the devastating. bombardment of the centre of Rotterdam in May 1940.
