The Netherlands takes a moment of silence to observe the events in Japan, by holding a silent walk and vigil in Amsterdam.

On Saturday, March 26 a silent vigil will be held in Amsterdam to commemorate the victims in Japan. This event is organised by the collaborative efforts of "JAPAN Helpen Kan" which is working in association with several other parties to raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross.

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation, Mayor of Amsterdam and Amstelveen, Japanese Ambassador, as well as CEO's from several local Japanese companies, sport associations and the Japanese community will attend to express to Japan and the rest of the World the up most sympathises for the current crisis.

Meeting for this silent vigil will be on March 26 (8pm) at the Spui with a procession to the Dam square. A special monument of a large Crane Origami made and donated by FabLab Amsterdam will also be shown during the vigil to honor those effected in Japan.
