On October 6, approximately half of the nearly 500 general practitioners (huisartsen) in The Hague, Zoetermeer and suburbs are expected to attend a protest meeting in Amsterdam against budget cuts in the medical sector.

Note that GPs have been asked to take over more work from the hospitals to reduce costs.
