Immigration hit new record

With 160 thousand people, immigration "hit a new record high" last year, according to Statistics Netherlands.

More specifically, in 2011, there were 6 thousand more immigrants than in 2010.

The growth mainly comes from new and long-standing EU member states.

Note that immigration started to grow in 2006 and continues to date.
