We are looking for an experienced Site Construction Manager to join their team in Rotterdam.
Job Profile for Site Construction Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Report directly to the relevant Site Construction Manager
- Execute the overall piping scope, including supports, painting, testing, and insulation, for allocated site areas in accordance with the project schedule, cost objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor pipework pre-fabrication activities, including weld quality, material control, cast number control and transfer, cleaning, painting, packaging, preservation, marking, documentation, and certification
- Ensure piping systems, pipe supports, valves, and in-line equipment are installed correctly in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
- Maintain required cleanliness standards for piping systems and ensure the use of dry air purges where required
- Ensure painting activities are performed on correctly prepared surfaces and verify quality control checks, including dry film thickness and adhesion testing
- Ensure insulation materials are correctly installed, including cryogenic pipe insulation with appropriate vapour barriers and compliant cladding installation
- Ensure pressure testing is performed using the correct test medium, including pneumatic testing for applicable systems, and verify that adequate safety precautions are implemented
- Ensure oxygen closing welds are inspected, approved, and properly documented
- Verify that all required quality control inspections are completed, and that weld quality processes are maintained
- Ensure construction documentation is compiled progressively, reviewed, and completed in accordance with project requirements
- Ensure effective material control and cast number transfer throughout construction activities
- Manage the completion of system punch lists and coordinate the closure of outstanding items on behalf of the project
- Ensure completion of all mandatory pre-start-up punch list items to support the commissioning schedule
- Supervise construction activities and ensure safe execution of all assigned work
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of subcontractor construction teams as required on-site
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with the project and construction management teams and the Contractor EPPM
- Support and promote the implementation of the project Safety, Security, Quality, and Execution Plans
- Provide leadership in the prioritisation and coordination of unforeseen site issues, escalating matters to the Construction Manager when required
- Manage time capture and approval processes for reimbursable supervision resources
- Prepare regular progress reports as required by the Construction Supervisor or Construction Manager
- Ensure compliance with the project management system requirements, including completion of Basic Safety Process activities and achievement of required project safety targets
Candidate Profile for Site Construction Manager
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Degree or Diploma in an Engineering discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of construction experience within industrial gases, oil & gas, or related industry projects, with strong site-based construction experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experienced in preparing technical and progress reports
- Hands-on working within multicultural project teams
- Experience managing construction activities on behalf of a client rather than through an EPC contractor is desirable
- Experience executing Bill of Quantity (BOQ) construction contracts is desirable
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of recognised piping codes, including ASME B31.3
- Extensive knowledge and proven experience in piping construction techniques, including piping erection, pre-fabrication, painting, insulation, testing, and quality control activities
- Knowledgeable in ASME and other relevant industry standards and codes
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to coordinate construction activities effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure
