About this role

Our client, a leading international wholesaler specializing in used internal transport equipment, telehandlers, and aerial work platforms, is looking for a Machinery Mechanic to be part of their technical department.

Please note that this is a full-time, on-site role. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Utrecht to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose electrical faults, mechanical issues, hydraulic and pneumatic problems in forklifts and associated machinery
Perform regular maintenance checks, inspections, and servicing according to schedule
Carry out repairs, including component replacements (motors, wiring, hydraulics, etc.)
Handle battery maintenance and charging systems (where electrical forklifts are involved)
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service history
Collaborate with the spare‐parts department to order required materials
Assist with calibration, testing of safety features, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Assist in other mechanical or electrical tasks as needed (flexibility between all-around and specialized work)

Who we’re looking for:

Vocational training or technical diploma in Electro-Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar fields
Prior experience working on forklifts, industrial vehicles or heavy machinery is preferred
Good understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, control systems, as well as mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Attention to safety and clean working habits
Willingness for occasional travel or field work (if required)
Good communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team
