Capex Procurement Buyer
About this role
Are you a procurement leader who thrives on driving critical projects forward? For a 6-month assignment, I am seeking a CapEx Project Buyer to spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives across our BeNeDu operations. This is your opportunity to make a significant impact by managing a high volume of complex sourcing projects, leading supplier negotiations, and executing robust tender processes. You'll be instrumental in ensuring key projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your focus will be on unlocking financial value, optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and upholding stringent contract and process compliance. This is a dynamic, high-visibility role within a complex capital expenditure (CapEx) landscape, encompassing diverse sub-categories, multiple plant locations, and a broad supplier base. I am looking for a candidate who can bring immediate structure, accelerate progress, and apply seasoned procurement judgment. If you excel at managing competing priorities, forging strong stakeholder relationships, and driving best-practice CapEx procurement, this is the role for you.
If you're ready to take on a challenge, create traction quickly, and deliver exceptional results, I want to hear from you.
- Lead and execute regional and OpCo CapEx tenders and supplier negotiations across a high-volume project pipeline, ensuring speed, quality and commercial discipline;
- Translate defined sourcing strategies into practical execution: prepare and run RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, lead commercial negotiations, conclude procurement contracts and ensure contract results are properly captured in the applicable systems;
- Manage multiple projects, tenders, stakeholders and suppliers simultaneously, while maintaining clear priorities, transparent status updates and disciplined follow-through on actions and deadlines;
- Bring senior procurement expertise to improve CapEx procurement maturity, using established templates, sourcing strategies and best practices to create consistency and control in execution.
- Drive compliance with procurement policies, approval flows, contract standards and internal processes, while keeping project delivery pragmatic and business-focused;
- Engage actively with business, engineering, operations, finance, legal and procurement stakeholders during strategy development, tender execution and project implementation to ensure alignment, decision quality and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle;
- Maintain visibility of current and upcoming CapEx projects in the region, proactively identifying procurement risks, bottlenecks, savings opportunities and areas where fast intervention is required.
Requirements
- University degree or postgraduate qualification, preferably in procurement, engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field;
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, preferably in an international or multinational industrial environment;
- Proven senior-level experience in CapEx procurement, including managing multiple high-value projects, tenders, and negotiations simultaneously;
- Strong interim mindset: able to ramp up fast, bring structure quickly, take ownership, and deliver results with limited onboarding time;
- Able to work under pressure, manage a high workload, and make clear priority choices across competing business needs;
- Strong analytical capability, with confidence in complex evaluations, business cases, financial concepts, and TCO-based decision making;
- Highly organized, decisive, and results-oriented, with the ability to drive progress without losing attention to detail;
- Fluent in written and spoken English; Dutch and/or other European languages are a plus;
- Effective, confident, and engaging communication style, with the seniority to challenge, align, and influence stakeholders across functions.
