How to be Dutch

If you’re looking for an official guide to the Netherlands, this is not it. If you’re looking for some odd Dutch quirks, presented in snarky quiz form, then this book is for you.

How to Be Dutch, the Quiz asks the questions that SHOULD be on the Dutch citizenship exam, according to an American comedian who’s been in the country for 20 years. On the exam, many Dutch people score worse than the non-Dutch people do. So welcome to this self-made quiz. It can’t be any weirder than the real one.

Greg Shapiro

The Amsterdam-based funny man Greg Shapiro, also known as "The American-Nederlander", is a comedy veteran and fellow expat. For 20 years, he has catalogued his clumsy assimilation into the Dutch culture with Boom Chicago Comedy Theater, BNRfm and Comedy Central.
