The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a code yellow for the whole of the Netherlands this evening due to expected storms, hail and gusts of wind.

Stormy weather in the Netherlands

According to the KNMI, we can expect thunderstorms and heavy gusts of wind of up to 65km per hour. The storms will first appear in the west of the Netherlands and move in a northeasterly direction.

KNMI advice

The Dutch provinces of Zeeland, North and South Holland will be affected around 4pm and 5pm and code yellow will remain in force until 9pm. The KNMI advises staying away from open water, open spaces and not taking shelter under trees.
