Dutch national emergency number currently unavailable

By Mina Solanki

The emergency number 112 is currently unavailable due to an outage. The police switchboard telephone number is also unavailable.

What to do in an emergency

The national police unit advises you go to a public building (police station, hospital or fire station) if you have an emergency. From there, help can be called upon via the c2000 system. All police agents have been posted to their respective neighbourhoods. Some agents and police corps are also advising that emergency messages be posted on social media. NL-Alert has also sent out a message with additional information regarding what you can do in an emergency.

At this moment in time, KPN is experiencing a national outage. As a result, some municipalities and hospitals are not reachable by phone either. KPN is working on fixing the fault as soon as possible.
