The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is, just like last year, the highest ranked Dutch university in the QS World University Rankings 2011, which were published on Monday, September 5.

The UvA has however dropped a few places and is now ranked 63rd worldwide. Last year, the University of Amsterdam was ranked 56th.

QS World University Rankings are compiled on the basis of academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), citations (20%), the ratio of staff-students (20%), the percentage of international academic staff (5%) and percentage of international students (5%).
