About this role

As a Grants Manager, you will manage the full lifecycle of research grants, from initial application through to post-award administration and reporting. You will work closely with academics, finance teams, and funders, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and support the foundation’s mission to advance scientific research globally.

This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in academic or research administration, financial coordination, or project management. You are confident handling budgets and deadlines, skilled at navigating complex processes, and enjoy collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. While previous experience as a Grant Manager is not required, suitable backgrounds include roles such as Research or Project Coordinator, Department Administrator, Research Finance Officer, or Centre/Institute Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire grant application process using specialized grant management software.
  • Process and classify incoming proposals, assigning them to the appropriate internal reviewers.
  • Monitor submission and review timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for decision-making committees.
  • Communicate funding decisions to applicants and manage subsequent steps.
  • Draft grant offer letters and collaborate with the legal team on terms and conditions.
  • Oversee administration of awarded grants, tracking project progress, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Assist with financial administration, including reviewing invoices and monitoring budgets.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of English (C1/C2); Dutch is a plus
  • Master’s degree or equivalent academic/analytical experience
  • Proven experience in administrative roles requiring strong data management skills
  • Familiarity with databases, CRM, or other management software
  • Affinity for the academic or scientific sector; experience in a university or research environment is advantageous
  • Experience in grant management or within a member-based organization is a plus
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and precise
  • Confident managing budgets, deadlines, and reporting
  • Proactive and service-oriented, able to work independently while supporting a team

Salary

€3546-€5331 per month
