[Video] What if Netflix’s Stranger Things was set in the Netherlands?

Calling all Stranger Things fans: welcome to the Upside Down! One artist has given Dutch fans of the show a glimpse of what their home town might look like if it were featured in the programme. From the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, to the base of the Dutch government in The Hague - this is what the Netherlands looks like in the Upside Down.

Dutch cities in the Upside Down

Amsterdam-based graphic designer and artist Hessel Stuut latest’s project was inspired by the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, series four of which was released to the streaming platform on May 27. The show follows a group of teenagers in Hawkings, Indiana in the 1980s as their town battles supernatural forces and secret governmental schemes.

Stuut explored how some of the biggest Dutch cities would look in the Upside Down - the parallel supernatural universe from the show. Ever wondered what it might look like if Stranger Things took place in Groningen or Utrecht? Check out the insanely cool video below to find out!

While Stuut’s artwork is certainly convincing, these supernatural sights aren’t the only memorable projects he’s worked on. Last year, his video of an Amsterdam surrounded by mountains went viral in the Netherlands.
