The freezing winter temperatures that the Netherlands has been experiencing over the last few days are expected to give way to warmer spring-like weather. From lows of -8 degrees celsius to highs of up to 17 degrees, this week will see big temperature differences.
With temperatures not expected to rise higher than 4 degrees celsius on Monday afternoon, people living and working in the Netherlands are in for a chilly start to the week. Luckily, the sun will shine brightly throughout the day with no rain in sight.
As the sun goes down, the mercury will plummet into the negatives with temperatures of -2 degrees celsius in southwestern areas of the country, such as Rotterdam, and -8 degrees hitting eastern and northeastern Dutch cities such as Enschede and Groningen.
According to Weeronline, the wintry and sunny weather will continue into Tuesday with daytime temperatures reaching maximums of between 2 and 6 degrees celsius.
Wednesday will see Dutch weather change for the better as the wind turns to the south bringing warmer temperatures. While there may be some cloud cover, the mercury will rise as high as 10 degrees celsius in certain parts of the country.
This pattern is expected to continue for the rest of the week as temperatures rise, bringing the first spring-like weather of the year. Thursday will see the mercury rise to a maximum of 13 degrees with some light rain possible, while Friday temperatures could hit as high as 17 degrees with the sun shining regularly.
