Amsterdam ranks once again among the top 10 hottest European destinations to visit in 2013, according to a new article in CNN's Travel section.

Although there are numerous good reasons to visit Amsterdam, the reasons CNN considers the Dutch capital particularly attractive in 2013 are:

› The reopening of the Rijksmuseum, following 10 years of renovations. In addition to more light-filled and immaculately restored halls, cupolas, and galleries, the newly renovated museum will also feature a new pavilion dedicated to Asian art.

› The reopening of the Van Gogh Museum, just in time to commemorate Vincent's 160th birthday and the gallery's 40th anniversary.

› The 400th anniversary of Amsterdam's canal ring, which was added to the World Heritage List in 2010.

The other hot destinations for next year in CNN's eyes are Liverpool, Corsica, Reykjavik, Istanbul, Innsbruck, Crete, Helsinki, Belfast, and Berlin.
