The Holland Handbook is a paperback book published by Xpat Media in 2014 consisting of 256 full-colour pages and 150 photos covering a variety of aspects regarding living and working in the Netherlands.

About The Holland Handbook

Now in its 15th edition, The Holland Handbook has become the go-to resource for expats and internationals moving to the Netherlands.  In 256 beautifully illustrated pages, the book covers practical topics about living and working in Holland, including chapters on employment, fiscal issues and banking, transportation, housing, an overview of the healthcare system, Dutch culture, how education works in the Netherlands and so much more!

Certainly one of the most helpful books, the issues are approached from the perspective of an expat, which means things that may be unfamiliar when moving from abroad are thoroughly explained. The book has been adopted by many international organisations, including Adidas International, Ernst & Young, and Philips Electronics, to give to foreign employees as a warm welcome to the Netherlands.

Whether you have just arrived in Holland, know someone who is about to or bringing a partner or family member, The Holland Handbook is full of practical advice, websites and resources to assist in making a smooth transition!

Please note: Book competition winners are announced on the closing date. This book competition is only open to those currently residing in the Netherlands. Remember to check this page or your IamExpat inbox to see if you've been selected!
