Free wifi for everyone in the centre of The Hague

By Elzi Lewis

As of this month, all visitors to the Plein in The Hague will have access to free wifi services.

The new free internet service

The Plein is one of The Hague’s busiest squares, with dozens of restaurants, bars and meeting places. Unusually, people won't need to purchase a drink or food in order to use this service. The wifi is entirely free and does not require any password or username.

Further afield

This initiative is part of a wider scheme operated by the City Municipality and various other bodies, who want to make The Plein one of the most welcoming squares in the Netherlands.

If this scheme meets with positive feedback and generally proves successful, then it could be extended into other Dutch cities.
