No trains to Schiphol this Saturday

Planning on taking a winter break, or just simply changing trains at Schiphol? Well, make sure you plan for alternative transport, as you won’t be able to get to Schiphol Airport this Saturday, November 17, by train.

Work on the tracks

ProRail will be conducting work on the tracks around Schiphol from Friday, November 16 to Sunday, November 18, and therefore, rail replacement buses will be in use on the Schiphol Airport – Leiden route.

On Saturday, it is not only the Schiphol Airport – Leiden route which will be affected, travellers using the Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Amsterdam Zuid routes to Schiphol will also have to travel via the NS bus. Additionally, the Intercity direct on the Amsterdam Central – Rotterdam route will not be running this weekend.

On Sunday, November 18, passengers on the Amsterdam Sloterdijk – Schiphol and Leiden – Schiphol route will still have to take the bus; however, trains will be back in service between Amsterdam Zuid, Schiphol and Hoofddorp.

Lending NS passengers a helping hand

In order to make journey transfers smoother for passengers, NS is offering the service of porters at Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Schiphol station to help with their luggage. Due to rail works around Schiphol and elsewhere in the country, passengers can expect revised train timetables with detours, extra transfers and sometimes fewer trains on various routes in North-Holland and Flevoland.
