Car2go Amsterdam

By Moa Thorssell

By the end of 2011 there will be 300 full-electric smart cars in use in Amsterdam.

After Austin (Texas), Ulm and Hamburg (Germany), the car-sharing initiative Car2go comes to Amsterdam. Car2go is described as "the first personal public transport" that offers spontaneous car renting, free from commitment to a specific return time or location; an appealing service for short one-way trips.

Details about parking, charging and costumer registration will be announced in the coming months. Note that Car2go also plans to set up an office / subsidiary in the Netherlands.
