Our client is a highly respected and extremely prestigious global leader in the integrated energy and chemical industry.
Currently, they are looking for a Business Assistant (Bank Guarantees) to join their dynamic, multicultural organisation in The Hague.
The Analyst – Bank Guarantees & Treasury supports the company’s treasury operations with a focus on the full lifecycle of bank guarantees and related banking instruments. The role ensures accurate issuance, administration, and monitoring of guarantees, while contributing to daily liquidity management, banking relationships, and internal controls.
Please note that this is a maternity leave cover for 6 months (extension might be possible).
Job Profile for Business Assistant (Bank Guarantees)
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Coordinate the administration, amendment, extension, and termination of bank guarantees (BGs)
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (HQ, Legal, Procurement, and business units) to ensure timely and compliant documentation
- Maintain and update the BG register, tracking expiry dates and collateral requirements
- Prepare weekly reports on BG status and upcoming expiries
- Support daily cash positioning, funding, and intercompany cash management
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances or unusual items
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly treasury reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, treasury procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries
- Prepare and coordinate responses to KYC renewal requests from relationship banks
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance internal controls and process efficiency
Candidate Profile for Business Assistant (Bank Guarantees)
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree or certifications such as ACT, CFA, or CTP are an advantage)
- 4+ years of experience in treasury operations, corporate banking, or trade finance
- Strong knowledge of bank guarantees and cash management practices
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems (SAP, S/4HANA, or other TMS)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in high-volume transactional work
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external banking partners
- Proactive approach to identifying risks, proposing solutions, and driving process improvements
