Spotify raises subscription prices in the Netherlands by 8%

Spotify has recently informed users in the Netherlands that subscription prices are increasing. App users will now have to pay around 8 percent more for the music app.

Dutch Spotify subscription to cost more

Digital music service Spotify recently informed users via email that the cost of a subscription is increasing in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Argentina. The standard Premium subscription, also known as Premium Individual, will now cost Dutch residents 1 euro more, at 13,99 euros per month - an increase of 17 percent.

Duo subscription prices will rise from 17,99 to 19,99 euros and Family subscriptions will increase from 21,99 euros to 23,99 euros, reports AD. This is an increase of 11 percent and 9 percent, respectively.

When will the Spotify price increase take effect?

For new Spotify customers, the updated subscription price will take effect immediately, while existing customers can expect the higher price to hit their wallets the next time they pay for their monthly subscription.

"The increase helps the company provide the best possible experience and support artists," Spotify told Tweakers. According to a 2025 study by Telecompaper, 57 percent of people in the Netherlands have a Spotify subscription on their mobile phones, while only 30 percent pay for one.
