The Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card caused quite a stir when it was released last year in a collaboration between Pokémon and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Due to its wide popularity, the card inspired by the iconic 1887 painting Self Portrait with Grey Felt Hat by Vincent van Gogh has been made available at certain retailers in the Netherlands as of February 10, 2024.

Pokémon x Van Gogh promo card received as gift with purchase

Did you miss out on getting your Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat card at the Pokémon exhibition with the Van Gogh Museum last year? Then you’ll be happy to hear that, while the card is no longer available at the museum, you still have the chance to add it to your collection. The cards are now being given as a special gift when Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) items are purchased at certain Dutch stores.

When you spend more than 29,99 euros on Pokémon TCG products in a single transaction, you’ll walk away with the popular promo card as well. There is a limit of one card per person and it can only be gifted during purchases in physical stores.

“The cards were extremely popular, and we heard that fans were asking if they could be available again in the Netherlands,” said Simon Benton, Vice President of TCG Sales, in a Pokémon Company International press release. The promo card will be gifted with transactions at the following stores in the Netherlands:

  • Intertoys
  • Game Mania
  • Top1Toys
  • Primera
  • Bruna
  • Media Markt
  • Smyths Toys Superstores
  • Toychamp
