About Kin and Sanjukta Sinha
Sanjukta Sinha is a Kathak virtuoso, who has worked with three choreographers to create triple-bill programme Kin:
- Illumine by flamenco specialist Miriam Peretz
- Id by the great Kathak talent Aakash Odedra
- Incede by the renowned choreographer Smt Kumudini Lakhia.
The full performance promises to be a beautiful evening where Sinha’s rhythmic footwork and contemporary expression will shine through.
Kathak is a type of northern Indian classical dance, with its roots and movements set in in story-telling.
About the India Dance Festival
Each year in October, Korzo theatre celebrates the rich Indian dance and culture at the India Dance Festival. Ranging from Kathak to urban and from Bharatanatyam to contemporary dance, Korzo is the platform for established and emerging talents.
In this intimate setting, inspiring performances by renowned international artists as well as refreshing in-house productions are put on. The performances give audiences in the Netherlands a rare glimpse at masters of their craft.
Because of its unique signature, and the growing interest from artists and audiences, the festival has become one of the most important European manifestations for Indian dance.
