Frozen exhibition

The Ice Sculpture Festival is a spectacular event for young and old that you simply shouldn’t miss! It is one of the biggest winter events in the Netherlands, with over 100.000 visitors. This year, the breath-taking world of crystal clear ice and glistening snow will appear in the Ijsselhallen in Zwolle.

This edition will be the biggest and most spectacular yet, with more than 100 ice and snow sculptures reaching up to six metres in height, and more than 1.500m2 of freezing fun. Over 40 of the world’s best "ice artists" will use frost and special effects to create a spectacular frozen exhibition.

The sculptors, who come from 16 different countries, create their impressive works by unleashing chain saws, chisels and other tools on more than 550.000 kilograms of ice and snow in a room 10 degrees below Celsius. Dress warm!

World famous tales

This year’s theme is "World famous tales." The ice and snow sculptures will portray classic tales like Romeo and Juliet, The Three Musketeers, Dracula, Robin Hood, A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and many more. The freezing drama will be amped up with spectacular special effects using light, sound and projections.

Please note: Ticket competition winners are announced on the closing date (December 4). Each winner will receive one double ticket. Remember to check this page or your email to see if you've been selected.
