About the festival 

Taking place annually in August, the Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival hosts a diverse selection of contemporary, performing arts programme for 11 days!

Visitors to the festival can enjoy musical theater, films, dance, debates and other multidisciplinary performances taking place in various locations throughout the Noorderplantsoen Park, from August 15-25, 2013, in Groningen.

About the performances 

Compagnie Baninga & DeLaVallet Bidiefono, "Au-Dela" [August 19, 2013 | 9.15pm]

This compelling and exciting dance performance by Congelese Choreographer DeLaVallet Bidiefono presents the high energy Brazaville in war-torn Republic of the Congo where life is about survival. Dancers fight for a better life, searching for beauty and artistic expression in Au-Dèla (“Beyond”).

Post presents post, "Who’s The Best?" [August 21, 2013 | 7.30pm]

Australian theatre group Post presents post take part in a performance where the audience chooses their favourite in this comical performance-competition exploring pop culture, spots, politics and more!

Anthony Hamilton, "Black Project 1" [August 22, 2013 | 8pm]

This dance performance by Australian choreographer Antony Hamilton takes the audience to a post-pocalyptic world where humanity has vanished into a black hole. Two dancers examine how humans differ from machines in this minimum movement dance.
